What you'll do on a typical day:
The Area Sales Engineer is responsible for driving profitable growth across Northern Spain by developing new business opportunities, strengthening customer relationships and promoting PERI's formwork and scaffolding solutions.
We are looking for a highly proactive, self-motivated and customer-focused professional with a strong business development mindset, willing to take ownership of the territory and maintain a strong presence in the market through frequent customer visits and continuous opportunity identification.
The successful candidate will be expected to actively develop both rental and sales business, identifying opportunities not only to support customers through project-based rental solutions but also to promote the acquisition of PERI systems where ownership represents a sustainable and value-creating option for the customer.
Key Role Objectives
- Develop and grow PERI's business across Northern Spain by managing a portfolio of customers and distributors, identifying new business opportunities and strengthening long-term customer relationships.
- Promote and sell innovative formwork and scaffolding solutions, providing technical expertise, consultancy and value-added support throughout the customer journey.
- Drive profitable growth and strengthen PERI's market position through effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, ensuring outstanding customer satisfaction and successful project execution.
Responsibilities
- Identify, acquire and develop new customers while strengthening relationships with existing accounts, continuously monitoring market trends, competitor activities and project developments to increase PERI's market share within the assigned territory.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of customer needs, project pipelines and market opportunities, proactively identifying high-value business potential and growth opportunities.
- Maintain accurate CRM records and actively manage the sales pipeline, ensuring reliable forecasting, opportunity tracking and effective prioritization of business opportunities.
- Develop and present tailored technical and commercial proposals, including optimized formwork and scaffolding solutions, quotations and pricing strategies, ensuring alignment with customer requirements, PERI standards and profitability objectives.
- Provide technical consultancy and recommend the most suitable solutions for customer projects, resolving technical queries and supporting the effective application of PERI systems.
- Conduct regular customer visits, site inspections, product demonstrations and technical workshops, promoting PERI innovations and identifying opportunities to grow both rental and sales business through upselling, cross-selling and long-term customer development.
- Ensure the accurate and timely transfer of quotations, contracts and customer information to relevant internal stakeholders, executing assigned Offer-to-Cash (OTC) activities in compliance with PERI processes and quality standards.
- Support customers in understanding the commercial and financial aspects of PERI proposals, contracts and invoices, contributing to transparency, trust and long-term customer satisfaction.

What you'll need to be successful:
- Minimum 3-5 years of technical sales experience within the formwork, scaffolding, construction equipment or related construction sectors.
- Proven expertise in formwork consulting, with strong technical knowledge of formwork and scaffolding systems and their application within construction projects.
- Thorough understanding of construction markets, customer needs and project lifecycles, with the ability to identify and capitalize on business opportunities.
- Established network and knowledge of the Northern Spain construction market would be highly valued.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, design basic technical solutions and understand the structural behaviour of formwork and scaffolding systems.
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Building Engineering or an equivalent technical discipline. Relevant industry experience may be considered as an alternative to formal qualifications.
- Advanced user of Microsoft Office and CRM systems, with the ability to effectively manage customer activities, reporting and communication within a mobile, field-based sales environment.
- Professional level of English.
- Willingness to travel frequently throughout Northern Spain
