Product Manager - Scaffolding and Shoring, North America

What you'll do on a typical day:

• Local product management: acts as an interface between sales, the market and global product management
• Operational and strategic responsibility for the assigned product groups in the respective country and/or defined region
• Derive and implement global product strategies in the respective country and/or defined region into local/regional product and portfolio strategies and thereby achieve market success
• Analysis of market requirements, potential and competitive development and communication to global product management
• Supporting sales and our customers in the application as well as accompanying product ranges from their launch to product discontinuation as part of the global strategy

Operational Tasks:

• Communication between market/sales and global product management
• Implementation of globally and locally adapted product strategies
• Training and product launches 
• Communication of changes in the product/rental portfolio
• Creating PM memos
• Initiating portfolio management processes
• Participation in the core process of product development and product provision (help to develop specifications)
• Active and coordinating role in the creation and adaptation of local requirements regarding the necessary documentation for the successful use of the products 
• Representing PERI in scaffolding associations and committees

Strategic Tasks:

• Development & recommendation of a local target portfolio including business cases derived from the global portfolio and local requirements & market potential
• Creation of competitive strategies, collection, analysis and preparation of market data and competitive data (product comparisons with local systems)
• Presenting the results to (investment) decision makers
• Definition of market-based, strategic pricing
• Recommendation of target products with the necessary product properties/ deriving local product requirements for the PLCMP (“frontloading”)
• Regular alignment with the global product strategy
• Developing phase out strategies and scenarios for product lines
• Conducting profitability analyses

What you'll need to be successful:

• Completed studies in engineering/ science or technical field
• Several years (3+ years) of experience in the field of “Strategic Product Management” in the B2B sector
• Successful implementation of product strategies
• Experience from independently managing launches
• Very good knowledge of the construction industry
• Several years of experience in the field of scaffolding/shoring (2+ years)
• Strong strategic, analytical and conceptual skills
• Strong communication skills, structured and interdisciplinary working style
• High level of persuasiveness and assertiveness as well as identification with PERI values
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Team and customer orientation
• Fluent in English, German and other language skills advantageous

Working Conditions:

• Overtime and weekend work may be required as needed
• Position is primarily performed outdoors during all seasons, with part office duties
• Required to stand for extended periods of time
• Lifting, carrying, kneeling, bending, and reaching all required on a regular basis
