Senior Designer, Climbing Systems

The Senior Designer, Climbing Systems designs cost effective and safe formwork solutions for advanced climbing applications. This is an exciting opportunity to lead design efforts on large infrastructure (civil engineering) and hydraulic climbing (ACS and RCS) projects, while developing direct relationships with customers on project timelines and resolving technical issues. This role offers the chance to grow professionally with a dynamic and expanding company, with ability to take on greater project planning responsibilities.
What you'll do on a typical day:

Design cutting-edge climbing solutions for high-rise and complex structures.

Collaborate with sales, customers, and site teams to develop the best technical approach.

Think outside the box to deliver safe, efficient, and cost-effective designs.

Utilize your expertise in statical calculations, CAD drafting and formwork engineering.

Support projects from concept to execution, ensuring prevision and practicality.

Provide design direction to Engineering Interns, Draftspeople, Designers and Engineers assigned.

Perform design calculations, including the use of in-house and external structural analysis software, to ensure safe and economical designs.

Visit job sites and provide technical support on a regular basis.

Other related duties as assigned.
What you'll need to be successful:
- A degree in Civil Engineering, a diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, or relative industry experience required.
- 5 plus years’ experience in climbing formwork design and structural calculations preferred.
- Ability to manage and deliver multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize workload to meet tight deadlines.
- Experience in resolving customer issues and offering applicable solutions based off our customer’s needs.
- Skilled at mentoring and training team members. Responsible for the approval of design work (drawings, material lists and design notes) of others.
- Proficiency in CAD and other relevant engineering tools.
- Ability to work closely with customers, sales teams and site personnel.
- A proactive, customer-focused approach with a passion for excellence.
- Good understanding of Canadian and Provincial Building Standards and Codes; understanding of European standards relevant to formwork and/or scaffolding.
- Excellent ability to learn quickly and to work well independently in a fast-paced environment.
