Logistics Coordinator

Scope of Position:
The Logistics Coordinator plays an integral role in driving operational efficiencies within the stockyard by coordinating closely with multiple departments to ensure timely processing of inbound returns and outbound deliveries. This position focuses on optimizing material resource utilization, while maintaining exceptional customer service standards. Success in this role requires strong communication and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to anticipate challenges and proactively implement effective solutions.
What you'll do on a typical day:
Operational Transactions:
- Directly oversee the processing of all inbound returns and outbound delivery transactions, including:
- Updating the shipping and receiving calendar.
- Providing status updates on trucking and orders.
- Releasing orders to the yard.
- Generating returns & delivery tickets, labels and receipts; coordinating processing with yard personnel.
- Maintain and generate returns and shipping logs.
- Liaising between local, regional, and national Engineering, Demand Management and Logistics.
Transportation:
- Oversee all local/regional traffic and transportation for the site:
- Scheduling carrier appointments for shipments, returns, transfers and supplier trucks; processing driver information.
- Coding, validating and approving freight invoices.
- Coordinating yard to yard transfers with other locations.
- Respect working procedures.
- Use protective personal equipment when required.
- Report hazards and accidents.
- Take care of your health and safety and that of others.
- Other related duties as assigned.
What you'll need to be successful:
- 1- 3 years of relevant experience in Logistics.
- Post-secondary education is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Superior interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Strong customer focus and commitment to service excellence.
- Ability to perform effectively in a dynamic, diverse, and fast-paced environment.
- Flexible and capable of working independently or collaboratively within a team.
- Self-motivated with the ability to set and achieve objectives.
- Demonstrates a high level of accuracy and thoroughness in all tasks, ensuring that work is completed correctly, consistently, and to the highest standard.
