Good credit management is essential to an organisation’s healthy cash flow. The Credit Controller will be responsible for managing & coordinating the debts of the company and customers as well as manage new requests for credits.

This role will play an integral part of contributing to a strong credit management framework.

 

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Taking a proactive role in managing and collecting receivables of customers
  • Conduct credit checks of new & existing customers periodically
  • Setting up of master data such as payment terms and credit limits within PERI systems
  • Ensuring timely payment of receivables
  • Conduct regular reminder process
  • Following up payments as needed
  • Inform and involve Sales when necessary
  • Negotiating payment plans in case of payment difficulties
  • Establish delivery blocks on customers as required and in accordance with PERI’s credit management principles.
  • Responsible for sanction screening of customers
  • Responding to relevant customer enquiries
  • Preparation of statements, customer status reports and all relevant information as required
  • Providing administrative support to the team
  • Sales Representative create new Customers via CRM and Credit Controllers to check if PSD is correct, do necessary vetting and approve account requests.
  • Capture approved settlement discounts according to correct approval and allocate credit notes.
  • Ensure constant engagement with internal and external stakeholders/customers to maintain a strong credit management framework in accordance with PERI’s functional directives.
  • Bringing ageing pivots up to date daily
  • Download bank statements daily and upload on PERI bank sheet for allocations to customers
  • Do all vetting of customers and compliance screening for credit department
  • Process all legal invoices monthly on Laserfisch for Credit Manager to approve obo credit department

 

Experience:

 

  • Commercial apprenticeship
  • Previous work experience as a Credit Controller

 

Minimum Requirements:

 

Qualifications

  • Professional business management qualification

 

Skills/Attributes

  • Proficient in Accounting and Office software
  • Ability to reconcile complex debtors accounts
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Proven ability to build & manage external customer relationships
