Panel Sales Representative

The Panel Sales Representative (PSR) is responsible for driving revenue through the sale of plywood from the PERI portfolio. This involves managing customer relationships, expanding the client base within a specific geographic area, and developing comprehensive offers for both existing and potential customers. By utilizing PERI’s resources, the PSR ensures effective sales strategies and solutions are in place. The role also includes overseeing all aspects of the sales process, working collaboratively with the internal team to support customer purchases and meet revenue goals.

What you’ll do in a typical day:

  • Actively and continuously prospect and identify potential sales of PERI’s plywood within a geographical area and actively sell PERI’s plywood to various customers within the geographical area.
  • Build and maintain relationships with current and potential customers focusing on maintaining strong transactional relationships.
  • Maximize in-person customer interactions to build and maintain relationship, to gain understanding of requirements and needs, and to provide support with current and future needs and actively promote PERI’s products to customers in order to generate revenue.
  • Manage sales lifecycle (beginning with initial customer contact and ending with payment).
  • Responsible for developing and executing personal sales strategy including time and territory planning and achieving monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
  • Effectively manage pipeline and coverage to ensure target achievement.
  • Function as the liaison with the customer to maintain and improve an elevated level of customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain pipeline, revenue forecasting, customer communications, and database within CRM or applicable system on a weekly basis.
  • Perform ongoing market research to stay up to date with trends, changes, and growth activity that may impact our business and customers including understanding political, economic, and competitive landscape in assigned territory.
  • Knowledge of plywood panel, preferably MDO/ HDO/ formwork plywood, etc.

  • PERI's Sales Process and Construction Industry Knowledge: Advanced understanding of PERI's sales process, scaffolding construction project lifecycles, and the B2B business environment, including familiarity with the end-to-end sales process and customer lifecycle.
  • Construction Industry Awareness: Understanding of the construction industry and market potential within the assigned geographical area to tailor sales strategies accordingly.
  • Business Acumen: Understands organizational and financial aspects, strategic planning, and industry awareness.
  • Sales Proficiency: Prospecting, making first impressions, qualifying, demonstrating, influencing, closing, conflict resolution, building and maintaining relationships, resiliency, competitive edge, self-starter, persistence, results-oriented, and is resourceful
  • Negotiation and Persuasion: Identifies and addresses the social, emotional, economic, and practical barriers that prevent people from complying, listening to understand the other party's perspective as well as articulating your own needs concisely, thoughtful planning and preparation before talks, thinking critically, adapt strategies, patience, persistence, and techniques.
  • Decision Making: Ability to independently or collectively make decisions to analyze situations accurately and execute productive decisions
  • Goal-Oriented: Allows time and effort to achieve goals, acts independently to achieve objectives without supervision, acts with a sense of urgency to achieve goals and demonstrates persistence in overcoming obstacles to meet objectives
