Role Summary
To effectively manage all aspects of stock yard to meet operational goals to achieve superior customer service and excellenct stock utilisation.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Ensure that customers are dealt with professionally and efficiently in the yard regarding deliveries, collection, stock related queries keeping the Operations Manager informed.
- To ensure that all internal staff in all processes are informed as required, clear communication.
- Manage performance of yard staff, including yard and temporary labour, using "corrective progressive" discipline as required by labour law obtaining assistance from Operations Manager and HR when needed.
- Deal professionally with sales and admin team and assist with queries.
- To utilise stock optimally and ensure minimal stock losses through efficient stock control management in conjunction with Operations Manager and Demand Planner.
- Ensure stock availability for customers with minimal need for cross hire by following procedures required by the branch regarding cleaning & repair timeously to ensure availability for customers.
- Check and monitor damaged hire goods returned and keep good records and proof by means of the care program keeping own manager informed.
- Ensure correct documentation and pricing on outsourced transport, cross hires, etc. keeping own manager informed timeously.
- Efficiently manage operating expenses, including purchasing for operational maintenance in collaboration with Operations Manager.
- Manage stock yard assets, minimize risk and ensure good housekeeping. Includes ensuring the issuing of normal H&S PPE and comply with Health & Safety regulations and manage risk.
- To implement work schedules and operational plans as per goals set by Operations Manager to achieve company strategies, keeping daily production records up to date.
- Health & Safety - maintain and keeo all records and files up to date, toolbox talks, check sheets, prepare yard for H&S audit.
Qualification / Experience requirements:
- A formal qualification / technical qualification will be advantageous.
- A minimum of 3 years relevant work eperience within the same or similar role with a proven track record of success.
- Previous system knowledge like PSD will be an advantage
- Capable to provide site support if required.
- Executive responsibilities with professionalism and energy.
- Customer-focused, delivering the highest service excellence and cost efficiently.
- Fluent in English.
