Regional Logistics Manager
The main purpose of the Regional Logistics Manager (RLM) role is to oversee and optimize logistics operations with LEAN initiatives across multiple locations. The RLM does this by coordinating transportation, inventory management, and warehouse operations to ensure timely delivery of materials and efficient utilization of resources. Leveraging PERI’s resources, the RLM Manager leads, coaches, and mentors Logistics teams and ensures each team is fully functioning at the highest capacity while maintaining a Safety-First Culture.
What you’ll do in a typical day:
- Provide leadership and support consistent with PERI’s leadership principals, mission and values by setting clear expectations and performance goals for Logistics managers, yard and support teams, and materials management teams.
- Analyze and report on daily, monthly and annual KPIs. Implement corrective actions, as needed, utilizing LEAN tools to ensure continuous improvements throughout all regional yards.
- Ensure efficient utilization of resources while building and maintaining a strong safety-first culture.
- Oversee annual regional inventory and cycle counts while ensuring accuracy and deadlines are met.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders (Finance, Sales, Customer Service and Safety teams) to ensure alignment of logistics activities with business objectives and customer needs.
- Oversee machinery and facility related maintenance for all regional yards.
- Forecast hiring needs for regional Logistics teams. Ensure building a strong team through effective people recruitment.
- Assist in developing, implementing and maintaining standard operating processes for the Logistics team while ensuring that the processes lead to efficient and effective operations and safety within the yards.
- Provide insight and recommendations for regional and national Logistics strategies for policies and procedures and ensure compliance with all corporate policies and procedures.
- Monitor KPIs and metrics to assess the effectiveness of logistics operations, identify areas of improvements, and execute corrective action plans.
What you’ll need to be successful:
- High school diploma or equivalent, college degree preferred or equivalent years of proven experience, preferably in the construction or machinery rental industries, with a track record of successfully managing complex logistics operations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and computer skills with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to utilizing new technology/software.
- Leadership Excellence: Proven track record of exceptional leadership demonstrated through communication, coaching/developing, delegation, relationship building, ownership/responsibility, team results, decision making, and emotional intelligence.
- Financial: Strong ability to develop and execute against an annual operating plan and capital budget. Properly manage Logistics budgets, expenditures and timelines.
- Strategic Thinker: Anticipates future scenarios and plans to achieve long term logistic goals by focusing on setting objectives, developing plans, considers the broader impact of decisions, and improves performance and reduce costs, while maintaining a safety-first culture.
- People Skills: Effectively and harmoniously interacts with others. These include Self-awareness, self-confidence, self-management, social awareness, active listening, conflict management, empathy, relationship management, emotional intelligence, positive attitude, strong work ethic, and team player
- Management Skills: Effectively plans, organizes, directs and controls resources (including people, finances, and information) to achieve organizational goals
- Communication Skills: Effectively relays oral and written information to individuals at all levels, ensuring clarity and understanding from all parties.
- Attention to Detail: Thoroughly reviews work for errors, follows instructions, proofreads, and maintains accurate records. Experience in managing annual inventory, demand planning and strategy implementation.
- Spanish speaking a plus
