The main purpose of PERI’s Yard Supervisor position is to manage the department/resources to meet set goals and objectives. The Yard Supervisor does this by overseeing employees to efficiently and effectively complete assigned tasks and by following safety standards. Leveraging PERI’s resources, the Yard Supervisor is accountable for supervising, supporting, steering the department KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) targets, and working alongside of teams in various yard departments. In addition, it is the responsibility of the Yard Supervisor to support the Logistics Manager in assessing staffing needs, yard planning, and annual inventory.

What you’ll do in a typical day:

  • Understand and execute assigned departments tasks and ensure assigned team is aware of and following all processes and procedures for department and related to safety
  • Ensuring safety policies and procedures are adhered to by all on company premises and assigned work areas are clear
  • Lead and motivate assigned department to achieve daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly yard goals and KPIs
  • Manage the assigned department to ensure overall customer expectations are met in an efficient and timely manner
  • Lead and motivate employees while maintaining a positive, results-oriented workplace by striving to achieve productivity goals
  • Develop the team for professional growth by setting clear expectations, training, providing feedback and coaching
  • Participate in the interviewing and hiring process and provide feedback for hiring decisions
  • Participate in employee related actives such as performance improvements and terminations
  • Provide feedback and training to assigned team as necessary to ensure the safety and development of all employees
  • Participate in the complete cycle counts and annual inventory taking processes
  • Ensure tools and machinery are accounted for, maintained, and in good working order for assigned department

  • Product Handling: Experience in handling construction material and procedures

  • Communication Skills: Effectively relays oral and written information to individuals at all levels, ensuring clarity and understanding from all parties
  • Safety Awareness: Prioritizes safety, identifies potential risks, and ensures compliance with safety standards
  • Analytical Skills: Accurately gathers data, analyses information, uncovers hidden insights, and reaches sound decisions based on informed judgment.
