Engineer - Scaffolding

PERI is currently looking for an Engineer to join our team! The primary responsibility of PERI's Engineer is to prepare proposed system solutions to meet the project goals of our valued customers.  Engineers do this by using their engineering knowledge and experience along with 2D and 3D CAD skills. Leveraging PERI’s resources, the Engineer prepares complete design solutions including layouts and detailed assembly drawings, including non-standard elements. In addition, it is the responsibility of the Engineer to create full material lists for all design projects. In collaboration with the Engineering, Logistics, and Sales teams, the Engineer ensures an accurate proposed drawing is created by:

 

  • Understand Project Requirements:
    • Thoroughly understand the requirements for each assigned project and clarify project specifications, design constraints, and any unique considerations.
  • Collaborate:
    • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders, including Sales team members, to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the project scope.
    • Collaborate with the Engineering Manager and other engineering team members to incorporate feedback and make necessary revisions.
  • Utilize 2D and 3D CAD Tools:
    • Leverage strong 2D and 3D CAD skills to create detailed layouts of PERI systems.
  • Incorporate Engineering Standards:
    • Adhere to PERI Engineering standards throughout the design process.
    • Ensure that the layouts and drawings meet industry regulations and safety standards.
  • Creation of Assembly Drawings:
    • Produce detailed assembly drawings that clearly illustrate the PERI systems.
  • Create Product Lists:
    • Develop comprehensive list of materials required for the project.
    • Ensure accuracy in quantities, specifications, and part numbers to facilitate smooth procurement and construction processes.
  • Quality Control:
    • Implement quality control measures to verify the accuracy and completeness of your designs.
    • Conduct thorough checks to ensure that the layouts and drawings align with project requirements and engineering standards.

What you'll do on a typical day:

  • Understanding Project Scope:
    • Collaborate closely with Senior Engineers to comprehend the scope and timeline of the customer's project.
    • Seek clarity on project goals, requirements, and any specific considerations.
  • Design and Calculation:
    • Work with Senior Engineers to design and calculate proposed solutions aligned with the project goals.
    • Apply engineering principles to develop effective and efficient solutions.
  • CAD Layouts:
    • Utilize your proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD to prepare detailed layouts that accurately represent the proposed solutions.
    • Ensure that layouts are comprehensive and adhere to project specifications.
  • Collaboration with Associate Engineers and Designers:
    • Engage with Associate Engineers and Designers to produce detailed assembly drawings.
    • Collaborate with the broader engineering team to other internal departments contribute to the overall success of projects.
  • Adherence to Engineering Standards:
    • Ensure all work, including layouts and assembly drawings, complies with both US and PERI engineering standards.

 

What you'll need to be successful:

  • Excellent 2D and 3D CAD Skills:
    • Proficiency in using both 2D and 3D CAD tools is crucial. This includes expertise in software like AutoCAD, or similar applications.
    • Demonstrating an ability to create accurate and detailed drawings and layouts in both 2D and 3D environments.
  • Knowledge of Architectural Drawing Standards:
    • Familiarity with architectural drawing standards is critical. This includes an understanding of industry norms, conventions, and best practices related to architectural drawings.
    • Capability to read and interpret architectural drawings accurately.
  • Coordination of Advanced Tasks:
    • The role requires the ability to coordinate advanced tasks, showcasing a capacity to manage complex engineering assignments.
    • Successful collaboration with colleagues and teams in the execution of intricate engineering tasks.
  • Engineering Calculations:
    • Proficiency in performing engineering calculations is essential. This involves applying mathematical and scientific principles to solve engineering problems.
    • Ensuring accuracy in calculations to guarantee the reliability and safety of proposed solutions.
  • Detail Checking and Tracking:
    • The ability to check and track details and changes is crucial for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of engineering designs.
    • Implementing robust processes for reviewing and verifying design details to minimize errors.
  • Adherence to High Engineering Standards:
    • Commitment to maintaining high engineering standards in all aspects of work.
    • Staying updated on industry trends, standards, and regulations to ensure compliance with the latest engineering practices.
  • Effective Communication:
    • Excellent communication skills are emphasized, indicating the importance of conveying ideas, updates, and concerns clearly and effectively.
