Operations Coordinator

Scope of Position:
The main purpose of PERI’s Operations Coordinator (OPSCord) is to support the operational efficiency of the stockyard. The OPSCord does this by coordinating with various departments to ensure the timely processing of inbound and outbound deliveries. In addition, it is the responsibility of the OPSCord position to plan, prepare, schedule, and track shipments and returns, while maintaining a high level of customer service and meeting BSA targets. Additionally, this role supports transportation coordination, operational documentation, inventory accuracy, and quality control standards for materials in the yard.
What you'll do on a typical day:
- Maintain and monitor BSA targets to support operational performance and efficiency goals, while maintaining a high level of customer service.
- Coordinate and process transfers, shipments, returns, and related delivery documentation, including generating and managing delivery and return tickets, labels, receipts, and PSD tickets, ensuring accurate PSD numbers and filing completed documentation.
- Maintain and update shipping and receiving records, including the Freight Log and Outlook calendar, and update ECM with applicable delivery and return information, including delivery photos.
- Release orders to the yard and coordinate inbound returns and outbound deliveries, including overseeing the secure and accurate loading of deliveries and ensuring shipped materials meet PERI quality standards.
- Coordinate local and regional transportation activities, including scheduling carrier appointments and daily transportation requirements for shipments, returns, transfers, and supplier trucks.
- Contact carriers to confirm transportation and shipping rates, communicate applicable freight costs to internal customers, including CCA, track and verify shipments, and provide order and shipment status updates to Order Management, Sales, and clients, as needed.
- Process and manage driver and transportation documentation, and code, validate, and approve freight invoices.
- Provide reception and administrative support, including answering incoming calls, handling incoming and outgoing mail, and processing and posting AFI requests in conjunction with the Procurement team.
- Use and maintain accurate records in applicable operational systems, including AFI, Stradivari, PSD, ECM, and other operational platforms, and use Stradivari to support the team with ticket generation and related transportation activities.
- Conduct inventory checks, adhere to company procedures and policies to minimize errors, and perform other related duties as assigned.
What you'll need to be successful:
- Minimum of three years of relevant experience in a warehouse, distribution centre, or rental yard environment.
- Proven experience organizing, maintaining, and reconciling inventory and inventory records.
- Solid understanding of applicable provincial Health & Safety regulations, with the ability to apply these practices in daily operations.
- Experience working in a stockyard environment is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
