Head of Segment-Scaffolding 

 

The Job:

The Head of Segment – Scaffolding will typically be the primary sales point of contact responsible for leading an initial sales team as “Captaining a new Team". Responsible for setting up and developing a national scaffolding business in the PERI subsidiary. Additionally, he will liaise with all relevant subsidiary and Business Area (BA) Scaffolding functions to define and run the scaffolding business in the subsidiary.
After successfully establishing and growing the business and organization, this role will have the opportunity and potential to develop into a standalone business unit role.

Responsibilities:

Market and Strategy
▪Hold full P&L responsibility for Business Area (BA) - Scaffolding.
▪Identify new customers and business growth opportunities.
▪Analyse the market and define and execute overall strategy and sales approach as agreed.
▪Define targets and go-to-market approach based on BA Scaffolding standards, fully aligned with the Head of Marketing.
▪Identify obstacles of market entry and tackle them in cooperation with Senior leadership.
▪Skilled stakeholder management capability would be key for this position.
▪Identify obstacles and formulate overcoming strategies in cooperation with senior leadership. (Industrial Mainly in Oil & Gas)


Sales
▪Profitable and Sustainable Turn Over drives our business - Active selling and relationship building to (key) customers are a not negotiable, for this functional role.
▪Strong sales management fundamentals and skills: listening, probing, negotiation, and closing, are required.
▪Define sales approach and organization based on BA Scaffolding standards.
▪Maintain Sales tools, and Establish sales reporting and steering methodologies to ensure the outcomes we strive for.
▪Hire, lead, develop, and manage sales engineers employing situational leadership and collaborative methodologies.


Establish and run the business
▪Sales and Rental turnover drives this Business unit’s growth.
▪Ensure all relevant core and support processes for scaffolding business and customers are developed as we grow (On the Fly).
▪Define necessary development steps towards a strong scaffold organization.

What you'll need to be successful:

▪Minimum 10 years of experience in scaffolding organizational management.
▪Bachelor’s/ Masters degree in Civil/ Mechanical/ Industrial Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
▪Work experience in the supply and service industry to existing Petro chemical groups in SE Asia with experience in supplying large shutdown projects, at for instance PETRONAS, SHELL, KEAFER, PACIFIC Oil & Gas will be advantages.
▪ Results-driven, Entrepreneurial, and self-motivated, typical self-starter and strategic mindset.
▪Hands-on mentality.
▪Sales/Sales Management background in scaffolding or related industries.
▪Good knowledge of and network within the scaffolding and ideally industrial market.
▪Leadership skills (both lateral and hierarchical).
▪Ability to build strong and long-lasting relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
▪Problem-solving ability, capacity to embrace challenges and opposition, and navigate effectively through them.
▪Currently working as a maintenance project manager for a global petrochemical/ Oil & Gas group in SE Asia, with dedicated experience in the supply of scaffolding projects and a strong eagerness to establish PERI as a brand within large organizations, is considered an added advantage.
▪Willingness to travel and be mobile.
