Purchasing & Logistics Specialist

What you'll do on a typical day:
1. Responsible for planning, executing, and managing the company’s import, export, and logistics activities, including delivery schedules, domestic and international transportation/shipment, customs clearance, taxation, inspections, and warehousing, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and project timelines.
2. Continuously optimise transportation costs and efficiency, including negotiating with local freight forwarders, coordinating vehicle scheduling, maximising load efficiency, and controlling associated expenses, while ensuring all relevant documentation is complete and accurate.
3. Manage procurement and logistics processes, maintaining comprehensive records in the ERP system and continuously monitoring and improving workflows, including transportation costs, deliveries/returns, customs, and handling transport-related complaints.
4. Examine and verify procurement- and logistics-related expenses and invoices, processing payments in accordance with internal procedures to ensure accurate financial records.
5. Ensure all procurement and logistics activities comply with company policies, regulations, and health and safety requirements, and continuously improve processes through analytical reporting, while supporting internal and external audits and implementing risk control measures.
6. Procure formwork, shoring, scaffolding, components, and spare parts according to business and engineering requirements, working closely with project teams to ensure procurement quality meets project specifications.
7. Manage and execute purchase orders, ensuring compliance with specifications, pricing, delivery schedules, and contractual terms, and establish and maintain strong relationships with qualified suppliers, manufacturers, and service providers, regularly evaluating supplier performance (cost, quality, delivery, and service) to continuously optimise service quality, efficiency, and cost.
What you'll need to be successful:
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Requirements:
• Knowledge of procurement and logistics management within the construction or industrial equipment industry.
• Basic understanding of formwork, shoring, scaffolding, and their components; ability to read AutoCAD drawings is a plus.
• Knowledge of international trade and customs clearance procedures, as well as inventory and asset management principles.
• Strong negotiation skills and supplier management capabilities.
• Project-oriented planning and coordination skills.
• Cost analysis and KPI monitoring abilities.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP), MS365, and Excel.
• Proficient in written and spoken English.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a project-driven and high-pressure environment.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with great attention to detail.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and adhere to project schedules.
Education & Experience Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 3–5 years of procurement and logistics experience in the construction materials or heavy equipment industry.
• International procurement and logistics experience is an advantage.
